なんかGNUからディナーのおさそいなんていうメールが回ってきた。
たぶん、寄付集めの一貫なんだろうなーと推測。

でも、今回はいいや。パス

Dear Motohiro,

I am writing to invite you to join us for a special dinner to benefit the GNU system on September 27, thirty years to the day after Richard Stallman sent his initial announcement out to the world. Reminisce and plan for the future with me, Richard Stallman, Bradley Kuhn, and Rob Savoye, at an intimate dinner at Rendezvous in Cambridge, MA. There are just 16 tickets available for this very special evening.

What: 30th anniversary dinner to benefit GNU, with Richard Stallman, Bradley Kuhn, Rob Savoye, and me (FSF executive director John Sullivan)
When: Friday, September 27, 2013 at 17:30
Where: Rendezvous, 502 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA 02139
Tickets: Order your ticket for $500, with all proceeds going to support the GNU system.

There are a limited number of tickets available. Please order by September 25th.

You'll enjoy a special three-course chef's menu while enabling the GNU system to continue its work to develop and maintain free software for a free society. This dinner will kick off a weekend of 30th anniversary celebrations that will ensure a productive start to GNU's next decade. Festivities will include a hackathon focused on federated publishing and communication services, and tools to protect privacy and anonymity. And of course, there will be cake.

GNU is the only operating system developed specifically for the sake of users' freedom. Today, as GNU turns thirty, the GNU system includes not only a fully free operating system, but a universe of software that serves a vast array of functions, from word processing to advanced scientific data manipulation, and everything in between.

We've really appreciated your contributions in the past. This year, we hope you'll consider this extra donation in honor of this very special anniversary. In addition to enjoying an evening with great food and company, you will of course receive a public ThankGNU for your donation (unless you prefer not to). I hope you'll join us!

Sincerely,

John Sullivan
Executive Director
